In 2022, Hengequeens received a grant from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to commission seven local songwriters to compose a set of Feminist Anthems.
Hengequeens debuted the songs at FRINGE WORLD 2023, and now we want to help other choirs diversify their sets by giving them access to learn and perform our Feminist Anthems too!

The songs from Hengequeens' "Feminist Anthems" project lovingly and defiantly explore life under patriarchy, combining the songwriters' personal perspectives with broader cultural narratives, so that singers of all sorts can perform them authentically.
We invite other choirs to rage and rejoice with us by learning and performing these songs. Scores, lead sheets and practice tracks are free to download below. Please let us know when you perform them! We can't wait to see our songs out in the wild.

Scores for the cover songs we perform are available via Sheet Music Direct or Sheet Music Plus.Purchasing through these sites ensures songwriting and publishing royalties are paid, so as long as you buy the right number for your choir the scores are even completely legal ;)
