The Longest Night

Date:
June 22, 2024
Location:
PICA, 51 James St Perth

The Longest Night: An immersive Winter Solstice performance with Hengequeens feminist pop choir.

The days grow short and sharp and cold. The nights come early, mopping up the light, stretching out and blanketing the city in soft darkness. Come inside and revel in the cold and the quiet of Winter Solstice - the longest night of the year, when birth and death draw close and clasp hands in the great cycle of loss and return.

Hengequeens feminist pop choir bring you a set of gentle and reflective seasonal tunes, brought intimately to life in a cappella vocal performance in the round. Enter the song circle, and let the swirling layers of harmonies pump blood into the coldest fringes of your being. Sit softly and hibernate with us as the deep Winter gives way to the warmth of Spring.
